Faile Temple – Portugal Arte 10
From 16 July to 15 August 2010, the Brooklyn-based artists Faile will display “Temple,” a full-scale church in ruins in Praça dos Restauradores Square in Lisbon. The installation was made in conjunction with the Portugal Arte 10 Festival and will tour abroad. While Faile is well known by now for their arresting, advertising and Pop inflected prints and sculptures, “Temple” marks the duo’s migration from a more strictly visual medium into the realm of site specific
environments.

Vilchez - Solo Exhibition, Pure Evil Gallery

On 27th of May, Vilchez will bring his unique brand of colorful, eye catching wood and lino relief prints to the Pure Evil Gallery in Hoxton.
Preferring the detailing of dry crystal etching and a mix of woodcut and lino cut relief, Vilchez extracts vibrancy, intricacy and the cult of cool from his medium, creating complex, vastly impressive works that twist conventional iconography with influences from urban art.
Coupled with music from the uber talented flamenco duo Fran & Josh (http://www.myspace.com/franandjosh) this one should be a goodun!
From: 27th May – 31st May 2010
At: Pure Evil Gallery
108 Leonard Street
Hoxton

Charles Krafft & Mike Leavitt - ‘Pitchfork Pals’ Stolen Space Gallery
"Charles Krafft & Mike Leavitt’s ‘Pitchfork Pals’ bombard London with the best of Seattle’s post-grunge visual art culture. A variety of handcrafted items transform StolenSpace Gallery into a sinister souvenir shop with dictator teapots, life-size human bone china shovels, cardboard tennis shoes and artist action figures. A sampling of individual projects frames the debut of this dynamic duo’s ‘Pitchfork Pals’ ceramic collaborations."
